Overview

PKF Antares is looking for a dynamic experienced Accountant to join our Calgary Office – Accounting team. You will have the opportunity to work as a team member on diverse client

Our team provides one-stop solution on Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Assurance, Accounting, Taxation and Internal Controls advisory.


Responsibilities

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage/coach junior associates and bookkeepers
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process
  • Lead preparation of tax returns T1/T2 for small and medium enterprises
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Communicate with clients and government agencies
  • Develop effective working relationships
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, business, or another relevant field
  • Accounting certification or designation is preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients and team members
  • Genuine motivation to help clients and willingness to learn and grow the position
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team
  • Public accounting experience is a strong asset (including bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements and corporate tax returns)
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software (Quickbooks, Caseware, Profile, Xero)
  • Strong computer literacy including advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlookand PowerPoint
  • Bilingual communication skills are an asset (Russian/Turkish / Ukrainian)
  • Experience with Canadian CPA firm mandatory
