About the position

PKF Antares is looking for a motivated and curious Summer Intern to join our Toronto (Calgary) office team. This internship offers an opportunity to be involved in real internal initiatives and client-related projects, with responsibilities assigned as appropriate and with coaching and supervision throughout. The intern will work with team members across cybersecurity, risk, and advisory-related activities and will gain early exposure to professional services work in a structured learning environment.

PKF Antares, with its head office in Calgary and branches across Canada, provides a wide range of services to growing companies, including Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Assurance, Accounting, Taxation, and Internal Controls advisory. Our team works across internal and client engagements to support strong business processes, technology practices, and cyber security compliance.

What You Bring To The Team
  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent program
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and tools
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Excel, SharePoint, or document management tools is an asset.
Responsibilities
 
Internal Security
• Participate in internal cybersecurity projects as a junior team member under close supervision
• Help with simple, structured tasks that support internal security improvement initiatives
• Assist the team in preparing awareness materials, reminders, or basic content on security best practices
• Join selected internal discussions or project meetings as appropriate for learning and project exposure
• Support the team in reviewing simple checklists, process steps, or training materials with guidance
• Observe how the team responds to security issues and learn basic incident response concepts
• Learn about common cybersecurity threats and trends through supervised training and team-led sessions
• Assist with simple project support activities related to internal security work, always with coaching and review
• Work with other teams in a supervised way to understand how security supports daily operations

Client Engagement Involvement, as appropriate 
• Be involved in external client projects as a junior intern under direct supervision
• Support project teams with simple assigned tasks connected to active client engagements
• Attend selected client-related internal preparation meetings where appropriate
• Help prepare simple materials, notes, visuals, or structured content for client work with team guidance
• Learn how professionals communicate with clients and present information clearly
• Contribute questions, observations, and basic ideas during project work when encouraged by the team
• Receive coaching and training throughout client engagements and complete tasks with review before use

Cybersecurity Business Development, as appropriate 
• Support the team in simple business development activities under close supervision
• Assist with preparing basic presentation materials, proposal content, or visual aids for potential clients
• Help with simple research on cybersecurity topics, industry trends, or market developments assigned by the team
• Contribute to draft ideas for articles, workshop materials, or awareness content with guidance
• Participate in selected workshops, training sessions, or team preparation activities as a learner
• Assist the team with simple marketing or outreach support tasks related to cybersecurity services
• Learn how the firm presents its services and builds relationships with clients and prospects

Supervision Note
• The intern will be involved in real internal and client projects, but all work will be assigned at a junior level, explained clearly, and reviewed by team members
• The intern will work through coaching, training, observation, and guided participation rather than independent ownership of professional tasks
